Germany attracts Pakistani students and skilled workers for education, vocational training and careers. In every case, language comes first. This guide explains the levels and how to prepare.
Understanding CEFR Levels
German courses follow the Common European Framework: A1 and A2 (beginner), B1 and B2 (intermediate), C1 and C2 (advanced). Exams from Goethe, telc and OSD test these levels.
Which Level Do You Need? Spouse visa: commonly A1. Ausbildung: often B1, sometimes higher depending on the employer. University study: usually B2 or C1 for German taught programs.
Rules change, so confirm requirements with the German embassy or the program provider.
What You Learn at Each Level A1: introductions, numbers, shopping, simple questions. A2: past events, routine work and travel situations. B1: express opinions, handle most everyday situations, write short letters.
